NKOTB Summertime Video

PS. Is anyone getting a little gay vibe from Jordan or is it just me? He seems disinterested in his 20-something gal.

Mr. Mayer's - Where the Light is (Live in L.A)

Mayer_anistonI have a strange affliction with John Mayer. At the start I didn't like him. I didn't get the music and I just wasn't that into him. I kind of saw him as a cheezier, more main stream and slightly less talented Jack Johnson. (Ok, even I'll admit the boy has some guitar skillz). But, Mr. Mayer found himself in the media spotlight more and more. I couldn't help but find his cheeky boyish charm and witty interactions with the paparazzi intriguing.

Let's BLOG it out.. HBO's Entourage back for a 5th season?

Theboys_472x316Too many contrasting blog posts out there on if Entourage season 5 is shooting now or not. We haven't seen the boys around for a while in the media which makes me think they're filming. This blog claims they hadn't started filming as of 3-22-08. So, they could be by now and with a desired launch date of September 28th (pushed back from the original rumor of June) I wouldn't doubt things are almost 'in the can'.

So, at least we can look forward to 12 more one hour episodes of this HBO gem. I also heard a rumor that the writer has enough material up to season 8 (if HBO is still buying).

Survivor: Gabon—Earth’s Last Eden. Airing September 2008!

200pxsurvivor_gabon_official_logo_2
Survivor is gearing up for season 17 by going back to Africa. The show will be setting up shop on the continent’s west coast in the country of Gabon (Where is Gabon?). “I didn’t know where it was,” confesses host Jeff Probst according to hollywoodinsider.com. To be a little more specific it will be filmed around the coastal towns of Nyonie and Ekwata in the Wonga-Wongue Presidential Reserve.

Plus, Survivor will be shot in HD (finally!)
Season 17 marks another big change for Survivor in that it will be the first time the show has been shot in high definition. “Survivor is one of those shows that you want to see in HD,” says Probst, while noting that the scenery will look a lot more stunning than the stranded contestants.

Are you on Twitter?

Twitterbird_2I just joined Twitter yesterday, so if you're on Twitter.com, look me up.

I don't quite understand the meaning of Twitter. What exactly it accomplishes or what the attraction is. Seems to me that you can 'TWEET' which is in essence letting the world know in bite size text increments what you're up to. It has a remarkable similarity to the Facebook status. I might dare say it's the exact same thing.. which is why I'm questioning the hype around Twitter. Seriously.. I actually joined to see if I could understand the attraction, but so far, I can't.

It's baby-making time! Paid parental leave for Dads in Canada.

DadholdingbabyMy husband and I just passed our 3 year wedding anniversary. We own our apartment in downtown Vancouver and I'd be lying if I didn't admit we weren't considering the family route. We've been doing a bit of house hunting and started to evaluate how we'd financially and physically handle a little muchkin. It made us question how kid-friendly our lives really were.

So, I cam across an article in the Province yesterday that was kind of interesting. Apparently more dads are doing diaper duty for longer periods of time!

Summer is here in Vancouver: Surprise someone you love with a beach picnic for dinner!

I had an idea the other day for Vancouverites now that summer is here and "June-u-ary" is over (as I've so often heard it affectionately called). I think we should all take our friends or significant others down to the beach for a nice mid-week evening picnic! It's easy to do, just pack up some sandwiches, fruit, and maybe a dip and pita. Might I even suggest bringing a few bevvies with you?

Surprise someone this week with a summer picnic bounty! It'll be fun.. the days are starting to get shorter again. You better start enjoying the sunshine!

A nice read for book club: The Good Earth by Pearl S. Buck

The_good_earth_bookThis morning I finished off reading The Good Earth (Oprah's Book Club).

You know what I liked most about it? It was written over 60 years ago. So, what you read is really what was happening and normal at the time. It's fascinating to read about China and it's people 60 years ago through the livelyhood of someone who has lived it. The tale is a fascinating story of a man's life from boyhood until near death. You accompany his honest self on the path of hardships to greatness.
